Maker Faire: Raspberry Pi panel with Eben, Matt Richardson and Ben Heck

The first of this weekend’s talks is now available online: here’s Eben in a panel discussion about Raspberry Pi with the most excellent Matt Richardson from Make, and Ben Heck, the modder king. There’s more material from the Faire to come, so watch this space!

‘non-functional mechanical example’ I wouldn’t have believed that anyway lol

I might have gone to the Maker Faire but I was busy installing this on my Pi:

It compiled and ran with no errors. Woohoo!

nice video. i need to get a few raspberry pis for my kids. the older one is probably too lazy and easily frustrated to do anything with it but the younger one is a lot like me. i took apart everything when i was a kid!

At 50 I still take stuff apart. You should have seen the look on my wife’s face when I took apart her AeroGarden! It did need to be cleaned out and contacts cleaned, but I wanted to see what kind of controller it was using. It uses a PIC.

Still waiting for my Pi.

Glad the video is up for viewing. I missed the talks…the little ones (6 & 9) weren’t too interested in the Ras Pi, so they had us doing other things at the Faire.

SOMEBODY please tell “Ben Heck” to reply to his YouTube Channel Videos and actually post links to His Project Diagrams, Support Files, Parts and Parts List. And maybe He’ll actually Help people!

Have to say, I totally understand Ben’s choice to keep his responses to stuff on the element14 website, where his show lives, and on his own website. We at Raspberry Pi don’t reply to YouTube videos either; we keep everything centralised here and on Twitter. YouTube’s comment system is hard to organise, full of trolls, and too busy to easily keep on top of if you produce as many videos as we do or as Ben does.
