Issue #334 - Carrie Anne Philbin gets the Royal seal of approval
Hola,
We were so pleased that our Director of Educator Support, Carrie Anne Philbin, was awarded an MBE for her services to education in the Queen’s Birthday Honours 2020. She is one of the very first employees of the Raspberry Pi Foundation and a fantastic role model and source of inspiration to her colleagues, educators, and young people.
There are a couple of really cool opportunities for young coders this week! Teachers can get their students involved in the UK Bebras Challenge 2020 for schools. And there is just one week left to to register your team’s Astro Pi: Mission Space Lab experiment idea so they are in with a chance to send their code to space with astronaut Thomas Pesquet.
Don’t worry, we haven’t forgotten about Halloween: we’ve sorted you out with a glow-in-the-dark 3D-printed pumpkin by GitHub’s Martin Woodward.
Peace out,
Ashley
