A farewell from HackSpace magazine

A new week rolls around, bringing with it #MagPiMonday. This week, our magazine editors have some news about important changes to our magazines.

We have some important news to share about HackSpace. Issue 81, out this Thursday, will be the last issue of HackSpace as a standalone magazine, and starting next month, HackSpace will become part of The MagPi, the official Raspberry Pi magazine. We’ll be adding pages to The MagPi to make room for the stories and tutorials you’ve come to expect from HackSpace.

HackSpace was launched at the end of 2017 with this excellent first issue

HackSpace subscriptions will automatically carry over to this bigger and better magazine. If you were a subscriber to both, you’ll automatically receive a refund for the duplicate subscription.

Thank you for being a part of HackSpace. Because of readers and subscribers like you, we’ve been able to celebrate makers and making for the past six and a half years. This change means we’ll be able to continue bringing you all the best bits of the makersphere in the future.

We hope you’ll enjoy the new magazine as much as we think you will. If you’re a subscriber and have any questions or concerns, please reach out to customer service by email to [email protected] or by phone to +44 (0)1293 312193.

A heartfelt thank you for reading over the years, from both of us: Lucy Hattersley (Editor, The MagPi, the official Raspberry Pi magazine) and Ben Everard (Editor, HackSpace magazine).

What does this mean for Bookshelf? Will it be updated to include a new publication, perhaps Hello World.

So sad! First Wireframe, now Hackspace. I did used to think that my perfect magazine would be some combination of Magpi, Wireframe and Hackspace so I hope you can make it work. I’ll be renewing my subscription asap.

It’s a little disappointing to see the magazine come to an end. I’ve been a subscriber since the very beginning and have genuinely enjoyed getting the magazine each month, along with the MagPi.
I appreciated how the MagPi concentrated on Raspberry Pi, while HackSpace explored all aspects of making. Regardless, I’m truly grateful for all the wonderful content and articles over the years, and I’m excited for a more extensive MagPi magazine next month ;)

Oh wow! What unexpected news and rather ironic for me since I just subscribed to your magazine in May and have been enjoying it a lot thus far!
It’s a shame to see it go and I hope that the Hackspace spirit can be carried onto Magpi , which I look forward to subscribing and reading as well! Thanks for all the articles!

Hate to see Hackspace magazine go.

It is like, when the magazine of onComputing (for PCs) was integrated to another one, don’t remind which one.
The first issue was in summer 1979.
Greetings
