Supporting carbon removal
To help mitigate the impacts of climate change, Raspberry Pi is supporting the work of UNDO, an organisation whose mission is to permanently remove a billion tonnes of CO2 from the Earth’s atmosphere
How does it work?
UNDO takes silicate rock, crushes it into a fine powder, and spreads it on agricultural land. The rock begins weathering straight away, sped up by the increased reactive surface area, simultaneously removing atmospheric CO2 and enriching the soil with essential nutrients. Because silicate rocks are the most abundant on Earth, enhanced rock weathering has the ability to rapidly scale to permanently remove billions of tonnes of carbon dioxide every year.
