Their bright red jacket and red backpack lying on the rock behind them make more patches of colour in an otherwise natural landscape. The near shore where they sit is bare with a few small scrubby plants growing in thin patches of gravelly soil on the rock; most of the far shore is a glacier, though the shoreline itself and a large area of hillside to the left of the photo are rocky hillside bare of ice. A perfectly clear intense blue sky fills most of the top quarter of the photo.
